Treatments

Functional strengthening

learn how to engage your core muscles using breath, posture, and muscular activation to maintain pelvic floor integrity and improve overall strength and stability for all types of movement–from sitting upright, to walking, to running.

Manual Therapy

helps restore mobility, alleviate pain, increase blood flow and improve overall function in the pelvic floor muscles and surrounding structures. We employ a variety of manual techniques, such as soft tissue mobilization, joint mobilization, myofascial release, and trigger point therapy.

SEMG biofeedback

sensors are placed either externally on the perineum or within the vaginal canal to detect muscle activity–contraction and relaxation. This  activity is then displayed on a computer screen in a bar or line graph image to provide a visual of pelvic floor strength, resting tone, and muscular coordination.

Relaxation Training

helps release tension and alleviate stress within the pelvic floor muscles by incorporating exercises such as diaphragmatic breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, and mindfulness meditation into pelvic floor therapy sessions These techniques aim to teach clients how to consciously relax and control their pelvic floor muscles, which can become tense, overactive, and often painful due to factors such as chronic pain, anxiety, stress, and trauma.
